About

The Math Pentathlon is a program of interactive problem-solving games.  This motivational program strengthens basic math concepts and skills and stimulates creative thinking while developing problem-solving skills.  A critical feature of the program is the linkage of arithmetic reasoning with geometric/spatial and logical/scientific thinking.  These strategic games develop an essential futuristic ability: active problem solving.  And, it’s FUN!

Each Division is made up of two grade levels.  Each Division plays 5 age appropriate games:

Division I – Kinder and 1st        Division II – 2nd and 3rd        Division III – 4th and 5th

The club will meet from 2:45 – 3:00 on Mondays from mid-September through mid-late April and will end our year as participants at the National Tournament held in Austin in the Spring.  We will also be hosting 6 Monday Math Nights where all club members and their families are able to come to the school to play the games with each other.

Please be sure to check our blog every Monday evening for an update on what your child did in training that day.  There will also be helpful links to game highlights, where to purchase the games for home use and much more.  We will try to update the main page when new links are added.
